In
August 2000, Sam Lupo bludgeoned his live-in girlfriend to death with a baseball
bat while four of her five children were in the house. She was a Chicago police
officer. After murdering her, Lupo went on the run. During the manhunt, which
involved over one-hundred officers, SWAT and tracking dogs, two police officers
were killed when their chopper crashed. Lupo was captured in a heavily wooded
area of Wisconsin and charged with first degree murder. Eventually, he was found
guilty and sentenced to life in prison. Lupo thinks I should write his story.
I think I'll take a pass.
